Everyone is always more different on the last day of the year, invariably not melancholic over their past year doings and memories, instead excited over the new year ahead of them approaching in a few hours time. There u see bustling activities in all parts of singapore, gathering people from all walks of life, anticipating a brighter future ahead.. Yea, i mean the countdown.. orchard, sentosa... blah blah blah... every year is the same... hahaz..
Oh well, i aint the sort who like to chiong for countdowns... erm i mean not that i do not look forward to the new year, but rather i think besides the excitement, it is a day for reflection. Haha.. my day today was rather "well spent". Actually maybe not.. i dunno.. i was mugging with shi hui, calvin and eugene in bedok macdonalds. from 10 to 6. literally professional muggers. Our intention was also to help shi hui in her work.. but me and calvin decide not to waste our time there stoning, and hence decided to study some particle mechanics.. we took the notes from the choir room, oops its gab's one.. haha.. and eugene became our lecturer in macs.. it was quite funny.. his lecture was just a few minutes... a very fast lecture albeit able to highlight the salient concepts.. it sufficed i guess, given our scant knowledge of phy... haha.. maybe not so "scant" afterall for calvin (12th in level). ya, so we spent most of our time doing tutorial on mechanics.... less than 10 questions in total, efficient huh? :) its ok, no stress ma :) yea so mugging on new year's eve... how eventful. No regrets nevertheless :)
oh did i mention reflections? haha.. i'd better say sth abt it then. This yr, 2005, erm.. especially hectic, stressful, but enjoyable as a whole. Academics was tough, but its like everyone is going through the same process.. or rather the same system..I guess i was really fortunate to survive through the mugging. What kept me on was adequate stress and probably little motivation. Consistent work does pay off, i really need to emphasize this. Its not that i am sounding politically correct, but if u really live through the whole experience like me now, u would probably not regret if u had done regular tutorials, put in bit by bit of effort in constant revision, gave extra attention to assignments... etc Ok, trying not to bore u ppl off... Oh choir!! vj choir!! Yes that was an integral part of my life. Without it life would be monotonous. Kudos to music. It adds another dimension to my life.. and temporary diverts my attention from studies. No matter sectionals, combined, or practices with nelson, every part of it was fruiful and enriching. Tired sometimes, but nv bored :) Erm.. other than studies and choir, sorry to say that this whole year is really nth more than that lol...probably thats the life of an 18 yr old normal guy in a junior college.
Next yr would be one of a physically exhaustive one. I must be ready, and will be ready. NS awaits. 2 yrs. Fast it must be. Strenuous it will seem. Accomplished i shld feel. I want a positive NS experience, and only i can make it positive. I believe thats the only way i shld embrace army life. Oh besides army life, i would probably take up some vocal lessons... but probably after chinese new year...And i would probably try to help other ppl in their studies... may not be in the form of tuition...probably help out as much as i can. beneficial to me too, at least i wont alienate my self from academics :)
Ok, will stop here for today. maybe watching countdown on TV, may not. it doesnt matter. The year ahead will commence in 1.5 hours time. Life will go on. I sincerely wish all a Happy New Year when the clock strikes 12 today. All the best for ur endeavours! Best Of Health!
